“We had recently installed a chevron conveyor belt to our material recovery facility at our waste transfer station to solve a high blockage area, whilst this solution resolved the problem it intended to, it did create a new issue. We were suffering from a great deal of carryback; material that sticks to the belt and then is deposited on the floor creating a great deal of mess and potentially causing more blockages and excess wear.
Our issue was severe, the tidy up was consuming circa 24 manhours, twice a week. I visited RH Conveyor’s stall at the RWM Expo 25, I was very impressed with the products they had on display and arranged a follow up conversation after the show. We went ahead with the purchase of a primary and secondary belt cleaner. These products have greatly improved our productivity, it has reduced our clean up to under one hour per week, not only have they increased our runtime but have gone a long way towards increasing moral on site too, our operatives are no longer faced with hours of arduous labour on a weekly basis.
